Where to Buy Paper Planes in Detroit Metro

Six shops around Detroit carry Paper Planes: Krispy Addicts on Livernois in the city, Cityman in Dearborn, 4Men and Fashion Bistro in Southfield, and Puffer Reds in both Wayne and Ypsilanti.

Detroit takes hats seriously, so start with the one to ask for: the Original Crown, the New Era 9Fifty the brand launched with in 2014. One size, adjustable, and the piece most consistently stocked across this whole network. If you want a fitted instead, sized to your head, no closure, phone ahead with your size, because that is where stock runs thin fastest.

The catch here is distance. Only Krispy Addicts is inside the city. The other four are in four different towns, and Ypsilanti is nearly forty miles from Livernois. This is a metro you drive, and the right shop is whichever is on your side of it.

Two of the six are one business. Puffer Reds runs Wayne and Ypsilanti, both on West Michigan Avenue, twenty minutes apart, so if one is out of your size, the other is the obvious next call. Before you set off: the Wayne store is closed Mondays. Ypsilanti is not.

Livernois is the address with real weight behind it. That stretch is known as the Avenue of Fashion and has been a Detroit retail street for decades. A streetwear shop there is trading on genuine history rather than borrowing it.
