Why This Site Exists
Somebody sees the hat and asks where you got it. That question deserved a real answer, and the internet did not have one.
We are a referral source that promotes the Paper Planes culture. That is the whole job: send people to the shops that carry the brand, the real ones, in Canarsie and on Livernois and on 125th Street, and tell the story that makes the trip worth it. There was nowhere doing either. So we built it.
What was missing
The shops were invisible in search. Search "where to get Paper Planes in Brooklyn" and you got resellers and marketplaces, not the five Brooklyn shops that actually stock it. The independents doing the real work had no presence at all.
Nobody could answer the near-me question. Each shop knows itself. None of them knows the other 62. The one question a buyer actually asks, what is near me right now, had no source anywhere.
The story was scattered. Who owns the brand, what the folded flag means, why the hat is called a Crown. The answers existed in interviews and trade press, and the pages ranking for those questions were logo generators and stock photo sites.
How we fill those gaps
We verified everything, shop by shop. Every address validated against postal data, geocoded to street level, and checked for live trading status. The closed shops are gone from our listings. Each city page carries the date its listings were last confirmed.
We gave every market a real page. Twelve city pages, nineteen states, hours, phone numbers, directions, and what each shop is actually good for. Written by people who care, not generated by a template.
We answer the near-me question. Search your city, get every shop that carries the brand near you, plus the national retailers and the SoHo flagship, sorted by what is actually reachable.
We tell the story straight, from the source. The founder's own words on what the logo means, why the hat is a Crown, and why the first ones could not be bought at any price.

What we are not
We are not a store. We sell nothing and ship nothing. Every listing here routes you to a real shop, a national retailer, or the official store at paperplane.shop.
We are a locator, built by fans, for the shops and the people looking for them.
The shops come first
The independents that stock this brand sit in neighbourhoods most retail maps skip. A shop in Canarsie exists because somebody from Canarsie opened it. When you buy there instead of from a marketplace listing, that shop stays open, and that is the whole point of this site.

FAQ
Who runs this site?
Fans of the brand. It is independent, it sells nothing, and it exists to route people to the shops that carry Paper Planes.
How do you know the store information is right?
We check it. Addresses, hours and phone numbers are verified shop by shop, and each city page shows when its listings were last confirmed.
How is this different from a store list?
Every listing here is verified, current, and written up by people who know why each shop is worth the trip. A list tells you an address; this tells you which door to walk through and what to ask for.
Where should I buy online?
The official store, paperplane.shop. This site is for finding the brand in person.
