A trucker swaps the rear panels for mesh. That is the whole difference and it is entirely a heat decision, the back of the cap breathes, so it stays wearable in weather that makes a wool fitted unpleasant.
The front panels stay structured, so the plane sits flat and upright the way it does on a snapback. From the front, a trucker reads much like a 9Fifty. From any other angle it obviously does not.
